The Spire Chamber Ensemble and Baroque Orchestra continue its Kansas City tradition of annual performances of Handel’s magnum opus in the glorious acoustics of Helzberg Hall. Composed in 1741, Messiah has been a staple of the choral-orchestral repertoire since its first performance. From the excitement of “For Unto Us a Child is Born” to the magnificence of the “Hallelujah Chorus,” audiences will experience the oratorio with vibrant and detailed clarity, streamlined forces, expert execution, and the brilliant timbres of the Baroque instruments the same as Handel conducted.
