Awakening New Sounds

This concert project will celebrate Spire's very humble beginnings as we recreate a portion of our very first concert ten years ago. Cantos Sagrados by Sir James MacMillan will serve as the central work plus selections for choir and organ including music by Jonathan Dove, Nico Muhly, Herbert Howells, Johannes Brahms, and a new world-premiere by Ben A. Spalding. The featured artist will be longtime Spire collaborator Jan Kraybill on organ. Additionally, Spire pays tribute to its beloved audience in this program comprised of works from across the centuries chosen by popular vote.
