Open Your Home to a World-Class Artist

Every season, the Spire Chamber Ensemble brings together extraordinary vocalists and instrumentalists from across the country and around the globe to perform in Kansas City. These are not just performers—they are elite musicians trained at the most prestigious conservatories, traveling the world to share their art.

And for a few days each season, they call Kansas City home.

That’s where you come in.

We invite you to be a vital part of our mission—not just as a listener, but as a true collaborator. By hosting a Spire artist, you help bring world-class music to life while forging meaningful, personal connections that deepen the impact of every performance.

We have had the most fun hosting Spire artists on several occasions. The musicians are such interesting, talented people and just lovely guests. By the end of the concert week, they are more like family friends than strangers. We highly recommend being a host!

Tepring and Glenn Crocker

We are currently seeking host families for three key 2025–2026 events:

Reflections (September 29 – October 5, 2025)*
Handel’s Messiah (December 21–24, 2025)*
The American Songbook (April 20–27, 2026)*

Contact [email protected] or fill out our Contact Us form if you would like to host

*Some artists may arrive earlier or stay later depending upon their travel plans and/or previous or following commitments.
We appreciate your flexibility.

What You Provide:

  • A private room and light breakfast for one or more professional artists
  • A warm, welcoming atmosphere
  • (Optional) A spare house key to allow for the artist’s late-evening return after rehearsals and performances

You are not responsible for transportation or meals beyond breakfast. Spire handles those logistics, and artists are respectful, self-sufficient adults with demanding schedules.

Hosting is a unique way to experience the heart of Spire: community, hospitality, and the shared joy of music.

As thanks, your name will be listed in our concert program, and you’ll receive tickets to that week’s concert—just a small way to show our appreciation for host families.
