Spire Chamber Ensemble is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. All donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
Spire by the Numbers
- Ticket sales cover only 25% of our operating budget.
- 98% of raised funds go directly to our programs.
- 30% of our tickets are provided free to individuals who love music but face financial barriers, including veterans, students, and community members, through partnerships with other nonprofit organizations
To give you an idea of how Spire uses your donated funds:
- A small gift purchases a gas card for an artist traveling to perform.
- Your generosity can sponsor two free tickets to Messiah, allowing someone with limited resources to attend.
- You purchase the actual sheet music—the vocal and instrumental scores our artists learn and perform.
- You help us record our performances, a key requirement in applying for future grants.
- You make it possible for a Spire artist to provide educational workshops to Kansas City music students, offering both inspiration and hands-on learning.
- You help artists fly into Kansas City, about 70% of our ensemble member’s travel
- You help keep our harpsichord and organ in tune, ensuring every performance is pitch-perfect.
